This Week at WFBY

Hey Gang!
Wow what a way to end up 2007!! Coach Rod is leaving the Mountaineers and emotions across the Mountain State are running high. Personally, if it was me I'd do the same. I don't like Michigan football, but it is one of the most storied programs in college football history. It's also the winningest college program ever. The chance to be a part of that tradition and mentioned in the company of the greats of all time is probably why Coach Rod is going there. Plus, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. I had a lot of calls from people yesterday who are angry, upset and can't understand why he would leave when he's already making a couple million a year in Morgantown. I don't think it's as much about the money as it is the tradition and opportunity to be on a bigger stage... Ego plays a part in many decisions a lot of us make. as well. As does the desire to be bigger and better. But it also could be the frustration of not getting help from WVU as evidenced by the comments of some big time donors to the athletic program there.....There's more on this at a story out of Pittburgh.....

Here's a link to an interesting take on the West Virginia Football situation from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette....

Our Night guy Alice Cooper(weeknites 7pm-Midnight on Classic Rock 102.3 The FBY) participated in a dedication ceremony Saturday for The Rock, a music-themed youth center that's slated to be built at Phoenix's Grand Canyon University. The $7 million project, which is being spearheaded by Cooper's Christian nonprofit the Solid Rock Foundation, reportedly will feature a concert hall and recording studio, as well as basketball courts, rock-climbing walls and other facilities. "I hope that in years to come, The Rock will be the first of many such teen centers in Arizona and around the country," says the shock rocker.
