Def Leppard's forthcoming album, Songs From the Sparkle Lounge, is expected to be issued on May 6. The band has also revealed working titles of 11 cuts slated for the disc. Sparkle Lounge's first single will be "Nine Lives," a tune co-written and featuring a guest appearance by country star Tim McGraw.

Street Survivors was the last album the classic line-up of Lynyrd Skynyrd released -- three days before the 1977 plane crash that claimed the lives of three of its members, including singer Ronnie Van Zant. That landmark disc has been given the deluxe treatment and will be re-released on March 4th in celebration of its 30th anniversary. They recorded the album twice, and that previously unreleased first version will be packaged together with the final version. In addition, the deluxe re-issue will also include the never-before-issued last-known recordings of that line-up -- five songs performed at a Fresno, California concert less than two months before the plane crash. Among the songs on Street Survivors are "You Got That Right," "That Smell" and "What's Your Name.

John Mellencamp was supporting former Senator John Edwards in his bid for the White House. But since Edwards has dropped out, Mellencamp has not said if he is backing anyone else. A Democrat, Mellencamp's not pleased with Republican candidate John McCain playing two of his songs -- "Our Country" and "Pink Houses" -- at his campaign rallies. Mellencamp has not gone on record regarding his feelings about this, but there are reports that his office is in touch with McCain's asking the Senator to cease and desist. Tom Petty had a similar situation with McCain, asking him to stop playing "I Won't Back Down." Hillary Clinton has been playing Petty's "American Girl." Bruce Springsteen had a similar situation in 1984 when Ronald Reagan played "Born in the U-S-A."

Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and his Raising Sand collaborator Alison Krauss will perform together at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, scheduled for June 12-15 in Manchester, Tenn. Other acts set to play at the seventh annual fest include the Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and Band singer-drummer Levon Helm. As expected, Led Zeppelin will not appear at Bonnaroo, although the cover band Lez Zeppelin is on the lineup.

Vanuary on the FBY!

This weather sure is wacky! Three straight days of sun and nice temperatures! I'm lovin' it.(to borrow a marketing phrase from McDonalds) And of course it's makes for some spring skiing conditions at the resorts. Cold temps are back by the weekend and I'm hoping for snow so I can head to Canaan Valley with the kids and hit the slopes!

Heard on the FBY today! My magic eight ball says......AC/DC will have a new album out come springtime. This will be the first release from the Back in Black crew since the year 2000. The title(at least from my sources) is "Strap One On" Angus and the boys are sure to be putting out something completely cool and rockin' More details soon!

Interesting story here about how much money Sammy Hagar made on the sale of 80 percent of his Cabo Wabo Tequila.

No doubt that the Van Halen reunion tour with David Lee Roth will rake in millions, but not as much as the band's former singer Sammy Hagar made in one day last year. When Hagar sold 80-percent of his Cabo Wabo tequila company to Gruppo Campari, the "Red Rocker" pocketed a cool 80-million dollars, which places him fifth on Forbes magazine's list of the Top 20 Paydays of 2007 for the entertainment industry. Gruppo has an option to buy the remaining 20-percent over the next five to eight years. Director George Lucas was number-one on the list with 200-million. Other celebs on the list included Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump and Wayne Gretzky.

Make sure to come out to JC Maxey's on January 18th to see all the contestants in the Ring Girl competition. And girls come on out....you can win up to $1000.00 in cash and other prizes! Plus you'll be the center of attention on January 25th and 26th at the Nathan Goff Armory in Clarksburg for the Original Toughman Contest!!!

Make sure to check out Alice Cooper Monday thru Saturday from 7pm-Midnight. He's got a really cool show.

Have a great weekend!!! It's basketball time for myself and my sons this weekend. We'll
