Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame 2008

One of my all time favorite rockers(cause he's just so rebellious) John Mellencamp was inducted into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame on Monday night March 10 in New York City. Billy Joel(another big fav of mine) inducted John. Mellencamp is one of those guys who didn't give one flying backflip about what people thought of him. He took a lot of heat from all kinds of people but stuck to his guns and did what he wanted to when he wanted to and that my friends is a true rocker. Somebody who doesn't abide by what the establishment wants them to do and still succeeds in the face of resistance. John has also lived through a heart attack. He once said in an interview that he'd been eating too many bologona sandwiches while spending time at Myrtle Beach every year...and between that fried food and a hefty cigarette habit he had torn himself up physically. Luckily it didn't kill him and we got lots more great music from John. He's always been a top notch songwriter and performer. I miss guys like him in this industry. Seems like too many are beholden to the corporate interests and are worried about who's gonna sponsor their tour. Rock on John!!! Here's my fav John Mellencamp tune of all time, performed with another guy I dig, Kenny Chesney on CMT Crossroads....

Listen to the FBY next week for your chance to win FREE rounds of golf at area courses as we give away the greens to celebrate spring and St. Patrick's Day. Ah, lads and lassies the little white ball calls us all!!!
